Omar Abudayyeh & Jonathan Gootenberg: Virtual Cells, Programmable Biology & the Quest to Hack Aging

Can we program biology like we do computers? Omar Abudayyeh and Jonathan Gootenberg, jointly run their lab at Harvard Medical School with this exact goal! As MIT grad students at Dr. Feng Zhang’s lab, at the dawn of the gene editing revolution, they published over 30 papers together which not only helped shape CRISPR-Cas into a truly clinically translatable tool but also led to them founding their startups including Sherlock Biosciences, Proof Diagnostics and Tome biosciences.
